Raektun Tungdur

Raektun Tungdur

Brother of Alaric

Raektun Tungdur was born beneath the grey skies of Torvaldsland. Unlike his half-brother Alaric, Raektun’s youth was marked by chains. Taken in a raid as a young man, he labored under another’s steel until fate stirred. Alaric found his kin in bondage and, with the cunning and coin of a trader, arranged Raektun’s freedom.

Together, they left behind the shadows of Raektun’s captivity to forge something greater. While Alaric wove trade in cloth and dye, Raektun turned his hands to the soil and the sea, ensuring their settlement would endure. When Alaric later returned from voyages with abandoned girls, he entrusted them to Raektun’s oversight.

For a man who had once worn a collar, the sight of the slaves stirred something within. He saw not just degradation, but the power of mastery. This realization marked his final break from his past, stepping fully into the steel of a Gorean man. Raektun remained the steadfast shield to Alaric’s merchant cunning until the tragedy at Sharkbait Cove.

With his brother dead, Raektun ventured back out into the world to find his rightful place amongst free men and silence the demons of his past. Hearing word of the quality of the slave trade in the distant port of Schendi, he set his course for the south. It was there, after many years, that he discovered the fruit of a past mating—a son he had never known. The young man stood before him with the look of his mother but the unmistakable fire of his father.

Today, Raektun stands as proof that the blood of the North runs deep. Having claimed the boy as his own, he has brought him into his home to teach him the ways of the north. His story is one of chains broken and chains claimed—a man reborn from bondage into the strength of his people and the legacy of a father.
